With the cry of "Hot, hot, hot for your mom!", The Cowards kick into a collection of comedy sketches as cheeky as, well, a butt clutched in spandex. This mischievous duo from Toronto sing, dance and jiggle their way through an hour’s worth of sketches poking fun at everything from cheesy TV telethons to beer.
The good-natured free-for-all includes two mackinaw-wearing goofs arguing about the difference between Lex Luthor and Martin Luther, an ode to Marny the Carny ("She may be missing fingers, but she smells like candy floss") and a cruise ship trip back to the days of heavy metal.
It's no wonder Mark Richardson and Dave Pearce have found airtime on CBC radio and Fox TV. Richardson sounds uncannily like Nathan Lane, a nice little bonus.
Give the pair a guitar and some tight pants, and their, uh, assets are limitless.
