Mark J. Richardson grew up in the wilds of Northern Alberta. Since he didn't play hockey and enjoyed any activity that included large numbers of women freely expressing themselves, Mark decided to persue a career in Theatre.

After performing at various venues in Western Canada, Mark made his way to England to attend London's East 15 School. There he spent three years treading the boards in a number of repertory productions - he brushed up his Bard, paused his Pinter, lovingly restored his Restoration, and swore a lot in Berkoff and Mamet...mostly he toiled night and day trying not to be funny.

Naturally, this lead to him writing and directing Snips 'N' Clips, a one-woman comedy about a day-in-the-life of a run-down British beauty salon. It premiered at the 1991 Edmonton Fringe Festival where it was chosen "Pick of the Fringe". Once again proving that the best way to achive something is to try to do the exact opposite!

Mark returned to Canada in 1993 and set up shop in the Toronto television and film industry. He has appeared in Dieppe and The Seduction of Mary Day on CBC, Any Mother's Son on Lifetime, The Mia Farrow Story on Fox, the CanCon Direct-to-Video classic Pocahontas: The Legend, and lots of commercials for high quality products that bring joy to all that use them.

However, film is a fickle Mistress, and she doesn't care much for the "talking props". Mark branched out into screenwriting after he realised that an infinate number of monkeys on an infinate number of typewriters....could all write a pretty good Pauly Shore movie!

He has adapted Snips 'N' Clips for the screen, and is working with his LA-based writing partner, Jesse Semple, on two other screenplays - Everyone Wants To Make Movies and Little Dan. *(The screenplay for Little Dan was selected as a WINNER at the 1999 Telluride IndieFest.)
